Setting, spiking, and digging, while unfamiliar to some, are all second nature to Reagan Rogers, our athlete of the week.
She hails from Blanco, Texas, a town in between Austin and San Antonio. The family atmosphere and small-town vibe of Natchitoches is what drew Regan to attend NSU, as it reminds her of home.
As a senior at Blanco High School, Reagan led her team to a perfect 12-0 mark in district play and a regional appearance, ranking second in the nation in kills among all outside hitters.
She has continued this trend of success at the collegiate level, being named to the 2017 First-Team All-Louisiana, 2017 First-Team All-Southland Conference, and 2017 First-Team Academic All-Southland Conference. The 2017 season also saw her collect the second most kills in single season history (427), as well as lead the Southland Conference in points (299.5) and kills (256) in conference matches.
Rogers, now in her senior year, is looking to not only dominate the conference athletically, but also set herself up academically for life post-graduation.
An HMT major specializing in Hospitality Services, Rogers plans on doing her internship this spring with our athletics program at NSU. Following graduation, she wishes to be a Graduate Assistant with NSU Volleyball while she completes her graduate program in Sports Administration.
