Northwestern State University’s annual Myths and Legends Tour is hosted by First Year Experience and is designed to give students a “hair-raising” experience. The event also highlights parts of the school’s intriguing history.

During the tour, students can expect to visit some of the university’s historical areas and learn about local legends.

“It’s such a fun night where students can come out, mingle, and really learn about what makes Northwestern such a unique and special place,” said Zachary Breaux, external affairs commissioner of First Year Experience, who is involved in coordinating the event.

“I’ve never been on the tour, but I’m excited to go this year,” said freshman Kiley Credeur. “It sounds fun.”

Each stop on the tour doubles as a stop on the Demon Poker Run. The student with the best hand at the end of the night will be awarded a prize.

The Myths and Legends Tour kicks off a month-long hunt to find Isabella, the ghost that’s been said to haunt NSU for years. A hint will given each day of October as to her location. In the end, the participant that finds her receives a cash prize.

Students that have been to the event before eagerly recommend it.

“I went on the tour last year and would gladly do it again,” said sophomore Mya Melancon.

The event will take place at the NSU Columns on Normal Hill tomorrow, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
