Cane River Brewery held a grand opening event Thursday to officially kick off their business.
Owners Justin Krouse and Cade Gentry have put years of hard work into starting the brewery, and it all paid off when they were able to cut that large, red ribbon.
“We’ve been waiting a long time to make this happen,” Krouse said. “A lot of planning and a lot of support have led us to this day.”
The business offers four main beers in the form of American Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Brown Ale and Pilsner, with a root beer and limited-edition Porter beer also available. At the ribbon cutting, Krouse and Gentry also announced plans to branch out into Shreveport and the Alexandria area.
“It is awesome to see some of our own from Natchitoches and NSU open this brewery,” said Van Erikson. “I think this is going to be great for the local economy, as well as for NSU students. It is a place like no other that we currently have!”
Since their soft opening in November, the brewery has been a go-to destination for those looking for good beer and a great time.
“The atmosphere is great. Any time I walk into Cane River Brewery, I know I am going to have a blast,” said NSU sophomore Christian Mercer. “Not to mention the beer is amazing. I have no complaints.”
